Last but by no means least is our man @shaneworsley and some stunning Trent torpedoes! “I was debating whether to get myself down to the River Trent or not, lots of reports online that it was hard going and not only the river but the banks were well in flood! I rolled the dice and headed out anyway, after checking and quickly departing several sections I found a nice area on the tidal where I thought I’d have a chance. Almost instantly I was into a few fish and the session was going great from the off! After about an hour the rod was away with a respectable fish just over 13lbs. With the fish snagging itself up in the fight it was nice to see her in the back of the net! Job done.. or was it! A few quiet hours passed before my rod was off again, a fairly short but spirited fight and the frame of a big barbel came up from the depths into the net. After a rest for a good half hour or so knowing full well it was a good fish and when it came to putting the fish on the scales she settled at 16lb 11ozs…what a fish!! All fish falling to my all time favourite 14mm C.K.O. Next up on the Ribble is good mate @nickincefishing “Dropped back on the Ribble last night on the hunt for another barbel. River had some extra water on it but it was steadily dropping off so I had my swim in mind before setting off. Luckily it was free when I got there. Got the rods out, recasting regular with my bait of choice and I wasn’t even getting a tap so I had a look in my lucky bag of baits to see what I thought would get me a bite and not long after the rod got the bend I wanted and after a little scrap the barbel was in the net. Happy days. Rods recasted while the fish was resting and not long after it went again with barbel number 2 at which point I got my hopes up for a good session, I had 1 more run afterwards that got free with a hook pull and that was the last bit of action for the session.
