***Important Announcement*** Good evening all, well that’s the last lot of parcels all wrapped and ready for collection for customers this week! We have an important announcement to make: Nigel had been planning to semi-retire at the end of the year, having worked tirelessly at our little HQ for over 22 years without a holiday. However, sometimes fate can throw a curveball, and with a sudden change in staffing, we have had to make some quite quick and quite big changes to the original plan. Effective immediately we will no longer be offering online orders, or shipping orders at all. With working with a reduced team, we simply can’t service the volume of orders in the way that we would have liked to. So, what does this mean? We will still be continuing to roll baits, be that Cocoons, Barrels and Grubs, along with Pellets, Paste and other products that you have come to associate with Vortex Baits, however it will be collection only from our unit in Selston. This will be by Appointment, and likely to be from Thursday to Saturday longer term, but for now we will accommodate as much as we can as we expect to be very busy. Whilst this was not the way we wanted to be so soon into the season, we have no alternative I’m afraid. Nigel & Jay, along with Tony will still be active at the unit and you know the kettle is always on! So it’s not really goodbye, it’s just you’ll have to come to us rather than us bringing it to your door. Our mate Paul Rudds young lad Bradley had an absolute red letter session this week on the Tidal Trent, with no less than 9 fish finding his net! Afternoon all, now I’m not really a fan of Mondays, it involves far too much admin for my liking. Emails to be answered, social media to update, accounts to be settled, it really never ends – and then there’s my main job to wrangle into the mix, along with getting the children up and ready, before the school run! One things that does help make it all bearable is catch reports. We’ve a great batch to share today, starting off with @stevemayangling and his opener for the season. Fishing a little Nottinghamshire River, this absolute stunner was the best of a brace, feeding Mega-Mix Pellets, with Dark C.K.O. 8mm Boosted Hook Pellets over the top to seal the deal! Our very good mate Michael “Chezney” Hawkes puts the hours in both whilst on the River, and also in the journeys to and from, it’s a bit of a trek from Durham and back! This time sadly without his beloved bivvy dog, the river gods must have been looking down, as they blessed him with this superb 15lb 8oz torpedo! Having first thought that he’s hooked a bream as the fight was a bit light, this lovely thick framed fish took a fancy to our C.K.O. Cocoons, wrapped in a matching paste waistcoat!
